[Xiph-Advocacy] Will Ogg Vorbis, Ogg Theora and FLAC become free and open standards soon?

What's the status/situation at the W3C regarding FLAC? They carry a PNG spec, it seems quite reasonable that they'd carry FLAC as well.
Is it merely a matter of needing an editor?

Very possibly-- as far as I know, it hasn't even come up.

It's only recently that w3c docs have carried realistic audio support.
I'd like to see FLAC as a baseline for some of the MediaStream family.
What, if anything, should I do with Xiph ?to secure support?

My interaction with Doug Schepers at the w3c led me over here as a first-step.
Is Xiph supportive of having a FLAC spec developed at the w3c? I do not beleive it would require membership... More likely just some nods of agreement and re-acknowledgement of various provisions.
